Willy-Nilly . . .

Linking with Tanya Today

Last Sunday I was invited to speak in St. Charles, MO.
As i was leaving I took a few photos.

I like this bench. It would be a nice place to sit and read for a while.

Soon these leaves will change colors.

These two mailboxes look as if they are involved in an argument . . . as if they are on the same spot, ignoring one another . . .

like the two churches they represent, squished together on top of a tiny hill.
bet there's a good story there . . .

Send In The Clowns pt. 2

It was a Tuesday Morning
I was outside the book store where Tiny Tot Story Time happens
A lovely lady came to also wait, the store was a little late opening.
(On Tuesdays we open at 10a.)

A young man, wearing dark glasses and using a red tipped cane
came to the door
and asked if the store was closed.

I could see the clerk, about three doors away,
so, i explained the person with the key would be right there
the visually impaired gentleman began shouting the store is closed
and won't open for an hour

He got close to the sign that posted hours
then jumped back and shouted
"It won't open until eleven"
"This store does not open until eleven"

the lovely lady remained quiet the entire time
note to self:
try behaving like the lovely ladies.

(the clown seems to reside in me . . . . giggle)

Send In The Clowns pt. 1

I have been visiting doctors since the first part of June.
Things were scheduled around school and story time because
well, because
end of June, i begin to cough
simple enough
the COUGH takes on a life of its own
and changes from week to week - day to day
it gets bad
I say to health care professionals
"This Cough is causing problems"
My voice squeaks, It becomes hard to breathe
I cough during surgery once, so, the procedure is stalled until the cough is controlled
I visit my primary care doctor
i can barely talk - my heart is beating like an angry tribal drum
My Primary Care doctor gives me a mask
it is now three months
and First day of School
I start the class, a substitute teacher is brought in
i walk to the emergency room
to learn i have pneumonia

go figure

send in the clowns.

(yes, properly treated, life is good)

North City Thursdays

Linking with Tanya

This fence is guarding a neighborhood school,
Parents are walking their tiny people to the side door.

This church is across the street at the moment
BUT, it's where I catch the bus to begin my journey home

Angel on another church, one parking lot over from the last church.

baby trees planted between the Water Tower and Peace Park

I'll be in the College Park Neighborhood for a bunch of Thursdays.
Must remember my little point and shoot.

Subterranean Five

I'll be linking up with Tanya today.

1.  Great Books at Story Time this week,
"Baby Peek A Boooo"  by Kate Merrit
is part of a brilliant line of story books called "indestructibles."
They are non-toxic, can be chewed on, drenched, you know - they are little person friendly

2.  The next two came home with me,
which might be my "highest recommend."
If you've attended any tiny tot book story times,
you will recognize " Nancy Tillman."
Many of her books are on my  shelf.
makes me happy.

3.  AND!!!!
Timely, Encouraging, about friendship,
and so much more
:My Two Blankets" by Kobald & Blackwood
Here's a story lady reading it for you.

4.  It's NOT all about me!
Extra Nifty Story Times added to the schedule.
can you make it?

5. One More!!!!
This will be Fabuloso!!!
