Honeysuckle Monster

I'm from the West
i remember Honeysuckle being pretty
smelling terrific
and being sweet, if you sucked on the flower

I am in the Midwest
here this plant is considered a public enemy
there are announcements to encourage people to get rid of it
anywhere it is growing

The plant looks different here
still smells just as nice

Here is a close up
of a blooming

It is such a hardy 'innocent' vine... just like kudzu! We've been battling this beauty for years along with trumpet vine which is even a greater pest...with beautiful orange red trumpet blooms. We once cut out a monster of a honeysuckle that the vine was over 4 inches in diameter!!! We seem to have great soil for vines... This is quite we cut out the vines that were shading our front porch yesterday as the local black snake had decided it made a nice perch...I DONT do snakes, and had been sitting under the snake and didn't see him until my daughter pointed him out. I freaked, snake and vines are no longer on the front porch!
