Invocation for Beginnings (Video)

Thank You, Long Hollow for sharing this with me.
Love & Love,

From Steven Charleston:

Gather up your dreams today,
gather them from every nook and cranny where they may have been collecting dust.
Take them down from the shelf,
bring them out from under the bed.
Get the old dreams, the wild dreams,
the child dreams,
the ones you had when you were just starting to feel your wings,
the ones that burned in your mind like the fever of adolescence
the dreams you told only to a special friend,
the dreams that gave you hope.
Gather them up now and bring them to where you pray.
Their power has not been lost and their blessing has only begun.

for here and there I find faces illuminated from within;

Promise Yourself

“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

The challenges we face are never the real problems.

The problem is that we don’t believe we can overcome.

Having certainty in your ability to do what is right is the key to overcoming your doubts,
 your demons, and your limitations.

With certainty, you not only can – you will.

For every unexpected bump, turn, or squiggle on the path of life, you pretty much have two choices:

Accept it as if you yourself had meticulously planned it and as if you're being watched by 10,000 cheering angels who love you so much, you're pretty much all they ever sing about.

Or, accept it, kicking and screaming, as if it were some freak accident or random mistake that had befallen you by chance.

I know which I would choose,
The Universe

From James Stone Goodman:

O holy friend,

Whoever did not love you right
In the past
I give you compensation now

And freedom from whatever ancient drama
You are staging
In what you call
Your mind.

No matter how great the desire is to please another,
let it be no greater than the desire to be yourself.

Otherwise ain't no one happy.

So pleased with you,

You are the fearless Rose
that grows admist the freezing wind.

Just when I settle back down into my somber self, wrapping my theology around me like a woolen shawl, frowning into the books written by very important people so I can be important too, the Spirit comes like a playful child and interrupts my carefully constructed dignity. Religion is serious business, I say, but She is having none of it. Faith is fun, She proclaims, a way to play if we let it be, a chance to laugh and sing, an invitation to join the team open to every child without their even having to be chosen. So I put the book down and follow Her where She will lead.

Ernest Holmes - "This Thing Called YOU"

I know that every negative condition of the past is swept aside.

I refuse to see it or to think about it.
Yesterday is no longer here, tomorrow has not yet arrived.
Today is God's day.
God's day is my day.
Today, bright with hope and filled with promise, is mine.

--Ernest Holmes

This Shabbat we read the Ten Commandments
concluding with
"Thou shalt not covet."
One commentator writes that this is not a commandment but a promise:
if you live according to these rules you will not covet --
you won't spend your life wanting what others have.
You will be fulfilled.

(Video) - This song captured my attention:

I thank you especially for the tree with the whispering leaves,
for its strength and independence, for its teachings.
And thank you for the sacred Tree of Life,
which we must nourish and care for,
in order to ensure that it blossoms once again
and so allows our people to live.

Have you been here?
I haven't
It's the Cathedral in Milan
Amazing, isn't it?
Sort of a combination of fantasy and Faith.
I used to dream of living in a Cathedral, upstairs in a room behind the choir loft.
I even wrote a song about it once.
It was pure imagination.

I don't think this place would call me any longer.
I DO find this place interesting:
This is in Meteora, Greece
(nope, i haven't been here, either)
Right now i imagine I could enjoy living here.

I suppose the goal is
to feel comfortable inside ourselves
everywhere we are

Okay, that's it
I'll turn off the computer now
and sit quietly
within the Cathedral of Soul
Know I'm home.
