Here is a post I read from
"Two Bears Farm"
It's a blog i enjoy visiting.

I've never been married
really don't have "family' in the classical manner
Plenty of Chosen Family, so - Color me Wealthy.

The thing that caught my attention was the question about conversation
Because, i have a friend from a really long time ago
I used to think, if we were in the same room together,
I could rest

I don't exactly know why i feel that way,
but i do

Yesterday i was riding the bus
(Our Metro is my mode of Transportation)
and I found myself thinking
If we were in the same place together
we could hang out
and not say anything

Just hang out, silently
and feel

Steven Charelston:

We need you. We need your vision and your courage, your good common sense and your creativity, your humor and your honesty. We need you because without you we will not be complete. We will not be able to finish the great work that we have been given to do: the work of peace, of healing, of reconciliation and renewal. There are not as many of us as you might imagine and the task is monumental. So we need you. More than we can say. Please come then, stand beside us. Lift your voice with ours and let us proclaim that we need one another, without exception.

Yesterday was full of lovely surprises.
It rained ice in the early morning
and we had two services - including moving equipment -
so , we were out in it
AND - got to stop for a Mocha Latte along the way (decadent treat for me.)

BOTH services were AWESOME.
It's always good for me to feel at home.

Ice turned to rain as the day warmed and i was off to the grocery.

After making sure Osa Magillicutty Happy Pants was happy
I got it into my head to go to The Garden
thinking the orchid show had begun and i could see Beautiful without getting soaked

The orchid show doesn't start until February

It turned out Perfect, though

A beautiful day!

Just gotta tell you
this day is a gift.
We were told to expect ice.
Instead, no ice - Bright and lovely - a little chilly - But hey!  It's winter.

I just got tidbits today.
I don't watch television.  Yep, it keeps me "out of the loop."  But I've found people are willing to share with me if i ask what they are talking about.
I do "Netflix."
Viewing by choice.
Yesterday I saw a surprising movie.
I rarely want to watch a movie over, but i was sad to return the red envelope this morning.
The movie is called
"Year Of The Fish."
The things i expected - it was not
The things it is - delighted me
There were no subtitles AND - the entire movie was presented the way I enjoy playing with photos.
It wasn't "Anime" - it was totally digital enhancement, with animation overlay in spots.
I enjoyed every frame and wish i knew some of the tricks they used for visuals.
This is a version of the "Cinderella" Story
BUT, it is NOT for children.
It IS a delight for any adult with imagination
there is a different cultural perspective
But, it is an American story.
Color, surprises, it is super full of "heart."
I was glad to know the framework, so - when it was sad or frightening
I assured myself It was going to end well.

Okay, I'm not quite finished.
Such a nice day was not to be wasted
I had a library book waiting for me.  I intended to wait until the other volume i requested was there,  BUT, a bit of an outing was in order
the book I picked up is super small
It's such a masterpiece, it was worth the ride into the city.
I walked back to the train, and finished the book on the ride home.

I'm reading up so, when I finally visit the Tenement Museum
There will be a bit of depth to my learning.

Okay, that's the picture of my afternoon.

God showed him a piece of wood
It’s a tree of life, hold on to it.

He threw the piece of wood into the water
the water turned sweet.

Fat Bikes

On the way to "work" yesterday there was a radio story about cyclists in Alaska.  The reporter was riding along, interviewing a cyclist, in 8 degree weather.

Immediately I declared I intend to NEVER ride a bike in 8 degree weather -

The story continued on to explain the special bikes, called "Fat Bikes" that are created to assist Alaskan Cyclists to bike in the snow.  IF they tried to use conventional bikes, they would merely sink, but "Fat Bikes" with Fat Tires, I suppose on the same premise as snow shoes . . . spreading across a larger area - keeping one on top of the snow, instead of in it . . .
MY - Personal and Immediate Thought - was to be grateful i was riding on the way to sing some fun, uplifting music, listen to someone deliver a talk - then go shopping - on a chilly, crisp, sunny morning -and NOT riding Any Kind of Bike in 8 degree weather - in snow - deep or otherwise
(just sayin')

That didn't keep me from following through later in the evening
safe and warm
at home
To SEE a "Fat Bike."

Yes, I "get it."
If I ever find myself in Alaska
I hope it's to tell a story, sing a song,
enjoy some stories of and by other people
If I'm blessed - someone will invite me to see and learn about First Nation People

Maybe they'll all arrive on "Fat Bikes."
This would also be fun.

For me??
I do not envision me on one
NO, this is not the picture of my day.

Miracles happen when we choose to work together.

I'm often astonished

Certainly I've shared limitless times how much i learn from "my" students.
I'm always so grateful to be part of our educational staff, I hope to continue another fifty-five years, at least.

By some strange quirk, my classes are momentarily at the same place in their studies.  This is mega unusual, because they are different age groups, and have different curriculum.  Still, at the moment they are all discussing the same stories.

By the time the fourth class started talking about The Holy One Communicating with Abram, saying it's time to "Go Forth" - to some land he would be shown - I'd "seen something."

Do you remember the story?  Abram, if he chose this adventure, would end up a Blessing to Everyone -

So, I ask - i always ask - If you had a conversation like this with The Holy One - would you go?

Would YOU???

I suddenly understood, i had - I suddenly understood we are all offered this opportunity to travel a unique life adventure, tailored especially for us - and, by following Our Own Life Path - we will be a Blessing.

It happens for and with everyone.  Some choose, some don't . . . .

Then, at work this morning, someone thanked me for "jumping out of the boat" and being willing to lead, even if it was scary . . .

(They'd just heard a story about someone willing to try, even if it the task seemed impossible . . . and a song about jumping out of the boat before claiming to water walk . . which is why that specific phrase was used . . )

Perhaps we can all wish each other "May you choose your life adventure!"

So? . . are we?  Are we all living our own adventure???  Pipe in, I'd really like to hear from you.

Love & Love,
