Education is when you read the fine print.
Experience is what you get if you don't.
            -- Pete Seeger

Ai-yi-yi!  I've sure had opportunity to amass plenty of this extra "Experience."

Fortunately, The Holy One is always willing to help a True Heart and we find opportunities to set things right.  Eventually we get to start all over with new projects that seem so much better, the sting  from those "bumpier times" become fond memory.

Happy End of October
I think November has Great Things in store for us
Love & Love,

Education is when you read the fine print.
Experience is what you get if you don't.
            -- Pete Seeger

Ay-yi-yi, I've had ample opportunity to learn this lesson the hard way.  By now, of course, i know the difference, BUT, you know, even now I get the chance for extra "experience" because I didn't have enough paperwork in place before I started a project.
(humpf!)

Thankfully, the Holy One always helps a True Heart to turn things around, get things right - and start again.

Sending you love - Happy End of October to you -
Looking forward to what November brings - I just know it's going to be wonderful.

Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.
            -- Demosthenes

If we all did the things we are capable of doing,
we would literally astound ourselves.
            -- Thomas A. Edison

I've got my day pack filled with books, folders, ideas and crafts
Off to another day of inspiring young people
Although, I believe I receive way more in this adventure

I keep thinking of Kim Clement's Chant-able poem:

"I'm somewhere
In the future
And i look much better
Than i look right now."

See you on the other side of this day
I have Pops in my heart
and
You on my mind.

Love & Love,
Georgy

We may go to the moon, but that's not very far.
The greatest distance we have to cover still lies within us.

and, believe me,
I STILL have a
l-o-n-g way to go.

Thank You!

Tuesday Mornings
Really Early
I catch a bus and go to school
It's super worth it
The classes are so exciting
It's hard to control the wonder
and the joy

Today was over the top terrific
Because i took the long way home
In order to check the mail box

Guess what i found
Lots of LOVE

I hope everyone has a Chummy Chum Chum
To make their life
Sparkle Brighter than Bright.

Love & Love,

Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Sholomi

Non-Orthodox Jewish Neo-Hasidism and Jewish Re...Image via Wikipedia
Rabbi Zalman taught several times when i was a student.  I learned so many things from him and promptly began adding
his techniques/suggestions/style
to my "tool belt."
I mean to say,
i out right copied what I saw him do.

He inspired me
A LOT
I would enjoy more time with him -
BUT
this isn't what i want to tell you.

What i want to share
has to do with the fact that i never feel certain that I'm doing a decent "job."
(Not that what i do is hard work - it's a JOY, I'm just not secure  . . . 'nuff said.)

So, I'm teaching on Saturday last
and asked each student for commentary
or story having something to do with our
topic of the day.

My heart was made so happy
it was a challenge to keep happy tears a secret.
Many of them gave answers
beginning with conversational sounds of speech
THEN
Suddenly breaking into song when they got to the best part of their story or answer.

AH!  Right AND Left brain answers -
definitely ZALMAN.

I may not seem 'good enough' (to me)
BUT - my Teacher, Zalman - is Stellar - and, these young people, without realizing,
have and are sharing Sparks from this great man.

A Maggid Report that makes me Glad to share with you.

(See? Spirit goes ahead of us all - makes the way straight -
gets it done - if we just say yes -suit up & show up. . . . . Hurray!)

Love & Love,

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler.
            -- Albert Einstein, (attributed)

I often wonder if the path meant for us is actually simple.  See, i know a lot of 'complicated' people.  Every decision seems so challenging they often choose not to do anything at all, or to wait so long the thing they were debating is loooong gone.
yet, so many of my heroes seem to "go forth."  Knowing everything will be made right - because the Holy One is in charge.  All they need to do is act.

Now, I'm not saying i 'simply' get things right all the time.

I'm just wondering if our paths might be simple, if we would choose to follow our heart - (or, better said, "Our HEART")

Having a dream is what keeps you alive. Overcoming the challenges make life worth living.

If i ever, EVER
Grow up

Could i be a little like this man?

Hard work spotlights the character of people:
some turn up their sleeves,
some turn up their noses,
and some don't turn up at all.
            -- Sam Ewing

Oh, is this speaking to me?
I can't count the times
I've stood backstage re-thinking my choices.
I used to tell myself,
if i was too frightened to walk out in front of the audience,
I could always become a Laundromat attendant.

Oh, you'd be surprised how much i enjoy laundry,
in fact, i have a couple of loads going as I type.
I've often though a Laundromat  would be a stellar place to work.
It does seem I've been designed for another purpose, though.

I often consider not showing up.
Really!
I get to a gig
and then think I'd like to go home now.

BUT
I believe my job is to
"suit up and show up"
I figure the Holy One has a plan
and is responsible
so, eventually the fear is overcome
I enter/engage in the situation
and
afterwards
It always seems to turn out

Good
and
Very Good.

I hope you decide to
show up, too.
It's gonna be worth it.

love & love,
g

Morning Glories Showing Out

Posted by Picasa
Any transition serious enough to alter your definition of self
will require not just small adjustments in your way of living and thinking
but a full-on metamorphosis.
            -- Martha Beck

I have a lot to think about this quote
Maybe I'll have thoughts to add to this post
BUT
Right now, I'm off to buy a November Bus Pass
(giggle - sounds like i have goofy priorities.)

Love & Love,
g

Aren't we surprised?
I'm back - and ready for my strange history class early
so, I could begin the thought
(would i ever finish the thought?)

I became your 21st Century Maggid
Because my life took a radical change
and i had the opportunity to learn
how to have/build/become
a "New"
version
for a long time i kept saying i needed
a LIFE
or a New Life

I am never certain I'm doing okay
Because
this "New"
version of georgy

well, it doesn't come natural
isn't easy

BUT
maybe that's good
maybe it's stellar
because I have/get to THINK
about what I'm doing and why
OR
I get to choose every day
OR
Decide every moment

Augustine suggested we wait until the second thought
before we act

Maybe
This "New"
Is a 'second life'
maybe we all have the opportunity to stop
and try again
to be holy
(set apart)

Love,
g

from Neale Donaled Walsch:

If you think that love is what you want,
you will go searching for it all over the place.
If you think love is what you are,
you will go sharing it all over the place.
The second approach will cause you to find what the searching will never reveal.

before the sun went down
these new sentinels were planted in the front yard.
Pretty, hm?

There’s a saying that bad things happen when good people do nothing.

Genesis.Torah.Light.Oud.mov (So beautiful, wanted to share)

What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?
          -- Dr. Robert Schuller

 My Pops
Tall like a Saguro Cactus
Loved me like his own
Told me Clearly every chance he got
Guided, Counselled, Encouraged,
Every Step of the Way
Went Home Last Night

Did he wait?
Did he attend the storytelling last night ?
I know he was proud (either way.)
heck, he helped me learn,
since i wanted to "count for something."
He cheered when i was finally settled
(so I'll have company along the way
so i won't feel alone - so I'll still feel like i have family)
In a great congregation

I have been truly blessed to have him in my life
He will always be a part of me.

God is looking for action.
