It's a beautiful day. I wanted to post a picture of all the birds enjoying their feast but, that's a problem because, if i go out, they need to fly to safety. The little bush stands bravely right where its planted, so . . you get this vision of little bush in the new snow.
Last night was really special. If you ever have a chance to attend anything "Tia Adkins" don't pass it up - because she is the future She gave a crowd of people a living experience last night they will remember a very long time.
I'm having a silly day, i guess . . well, what else is new, hm? I COULD have taken photos of my adventures - had trusty camera in my pocket all the way - I meant to show you Broadway Bean and my wonderful friends there . . . but, NO! I goof off being myself - and don't think of taking pictures until i return home - and find birds waiting . . . First, I have to tell you this day is filled with Light - and plenty of Miracles . . . even if i didn't stop the flow to take a picture . . well, of course, you can't expect Spirit to stop and pose . .right??? SO - the first shot (meant to be the final - but I loaded in backwards. . . oh, giggle, now you know I'm happy . . but not perfect . . right?) So, back to the little tree. I call her "Crabby Appleton." I sing to her in a REALLY LOUD VOICE - which, I'm sure the holy neighbors appreciate . . . at least, if they can hear my voice, they know where I am, right? So, in the summer, on a day that was bright and brutal in the sun, little Crabby Appleton was sitting in a tin planter - with a sale sticker on her - in the middle of a fenced off portion of one of my favorite hardware stores. It wasn't looking so good for her - the heat and lack of water was beginning to show. So, she came to live in this yard. Golly she's pretty. This is her first winter here . . . I'll keep singing - at least once a day - so she knows I'm cheering for her . . . AND - I have several bird feeders up - so she has constant activity around . . I hope it helps her do whatever baby tress need to do in winter.
Oh yeah, I couldn't decide which quote i most wanted to share - so . . here's the first one:
He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much. -- Bessie A. Stanley
I didn't take a picture of every feeder . . . just this one, which I decided to call "feeder number one" but that name is just for today - I never really named it . . just wanted to give it an official title for today. It sits right outside of the "prayer porch" which is screened in. It's cold here today, AND - I'm spoiled, so, "official prayer" is taking place INSIDE until further notice . . except, I pray "unofficially" all the time - and that happens just about everywhere i go . . but, you knew that.

The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it. -- Dee Hock
Isn't THAT the truth? So, I'm working on a couple of things One is a class for next year And it's based on this kind of thinking
Even if you can't come learn with me (although you are certainly invited) You COULD decide to try out the idea of clearing out old ideas In order to Live a Personal Best Life . . .
Just a Thought
There they are! Bird-feeding Feet Aren't I silly?
Maybe you don't remember because it WAS a long time ago now BUT - these feet were told they'd be in a wheelchair Well, no - I was told to expect my life to be shortened dramatically and that the remaining time on earth would be in a wheelchair - that would include these Bird-feeding Feet.
Well, the wheelchair just didn't look cute enough besides . . . we are supposed to have beautiful feet delivering Light (always a "georgy interpretation")
Unless there was a Basket, Colorful Ribbons in the Spokes, and Super Spiffy Bell I wasn't getting in the chair. (color that a BIG PERIOD.)
Well, whatever - enough about your maggid.
I always love hearing from you.
AND Whatever you are Celebrating (because I'm sure you are celebrating) May it - and ESPECIALLY YOU
If a problem has no solution, it may not be a problem, but a fact - not to be solved, but to be coped with over time. -- Shimon Peres
Ah! What a brilliant quote. It reminds me of the wise lady who told me this truth, in her own words several years ago. I'd had a health challenge that changed many things for me . . and, i wasn't "moving forward" - meaning, i was waiting for some magic to turn things right back to the way it had been.
That never happened. This lady gently pointed out i may need to watch for the "next thing" in my life. It took a lot for me to understand this simple truth and the "next thing" turned out to be brilliant - better than i could have imagined.
Now, all i have to say is - I agree with Shimon Peres in this quote - and, I can honestly share with you - no matter how it might seem or look - if someone is in that season of unexpected change - it will turn out "a-okay" - if you let it . . there will be a delightful "next thing" to make you happy once again . . and, probably the "next thing" will bless everyone involved in the story.
I really enjoy Bollywood movies. Well, okay - not ALL Bollywood movies, I prefer ones with a strong spiritual undercurrent and plenty of dancing. I like to jump up and pretend I'm dancing along with them. You know me, i dance along to muzak in supermarkets. Life seems plenty joyful to me. Anyway, yesterday i watched a movie (they are translated so i can understand what the actors are talking about) - and, in the process of meeting his true love, a gentleman (who was once a thug) learned about Gandhi. The character learned so much that Gandhi-ji appeared to him and helped him transform his life, bringing marvelous changes to the people in the story . . it was grand!!! So, I was not at all surprised when my cyber-friend (meaning I only know her through her internet offerings, but i love her just the same) Karen Chase posted this quote at the bottom of all her story-gifts:
"If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children."
It's said Gandhi referred to the "lower caste" as "Children of God" -
Our friend, Rabbi Goodman insists that either 1) We are all outsiders - or 2)There are no outsiders
As a child I was often told I was unwanted - which is great because I know how people feel - I agree - there are no outsiders - (No one outside "the camp" - and we are all Children of the Divine)
I'm not yet tired of singing "Child Of God" - so, if I see you this evening - maybe we can sing it together . . ???? If I don't see you sometime soon - you can count on the fact I'm still loving you exactly the same . . . (AND - I'm probably talking good about you behind your back.)
Okay, we might be busy, but isn't this a beautiful day? Here in our bi-state area we have warm air and bright sunshine. We've been promised our first real dose of winter tomorrow. Maybe even our first few flakes of snow. Today, however, seems like a special gift. I traveled into Maplewood to send something at the Post Office and - even though there was a line when I arrived, by the time I'd filled out the information on the envelope and filled it with good things, the line was gone and I got a beautiful smile from the postal clerk. I stopped at Foundation Grounds (don't you love how they pour lattes with art floating on top - and goodness inside?) it was probably the only lull of total Peace they'll have all day. I got a pumpkin muffin and latte and went outside to wait for the bus home - it was just too pretty to sit inside.
We may have rehearsal this evening, there may be several things to be edited and memorized in the next couple of days - but, today, this moment, seems like a total gift to me. I'm going out to make sure all the bird feeders are full . . look around to see if, by any chance there's still a flower in bloom - I'm going to say THANK YOU - for this perfect day -
