After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
-- Aldous Huxley, "Music at Night", 1931
It's been a long time since Mr. Dill & I have played an evening of music. I wonder how many lyrics I'll actually remember. We are all so fortunate to get to hear Mr. Dill's music. he's been working with other bands (good ones.) If you've been out & about you've probably seen him either doing salsa music with Phil Gomez and the Salseros - or, with the Chia Band (along with another one of our talented friends, Bill Ulkus.) he's been so busy, so booked, so in demand - it's way cool that he'll be playing w/me this evening.
Beyond that, it's "like the old times" except BETTER because we are working in the basement cafe of a Unity Church in Saint Charles. Once a month they turn the community room into a cafe. Cool, huh???? There will be cabaret seating, like the St. Marcus concerts, there will be treats and the possibility of making new friends, or sharing with the chums arriving with you - there will be NO Smoke, No competition with birds, bugs or traffic. Since it looks rainy today, we will be safe & dry. Just the fun of it all . . . . and the "no stress" situation of me - looking for lyrics in my memory . . (giggle, this will be FUN.)
If you are in the region (Saint Charles, Missouri) - you are invited. It's the Unity Church on Yale Blvd. and starts at 7:30 (until 9:30.)
What are you stretching to do today?????
