To Bless:

"to cause to prosper, to make happy,
to bestow favor upon, to consecrate to holy purposes,
to make successful,
to make prosperous in temporal concerns pertaining to this life,
to guard and to preserve."

Today's Favorite Sentence

I was reading my library book on the way to work this morning.
This, of course, is a reasonable activity since the book is due shortly and I am a transit rider,
so the time is available . . . .
(aren't I funny?)

Here is my favorite sentence from this morning's ride (by Bich Minh Nguyen from "Stealing Buddha's Dinner")

"I wanted then, as I did countless times after, for years, to slide away and vanish, become as unseeable as my ancestors."

I've felt like that before . . . .

'bye for now,

Tonight's The Night!

Our Wonderful teacher sent a "Daily Maggid" message today
about a person who was a joke among all the people who knew him because his behavior was goofy in his attempts to please God.

May I be such a silly for God.

You are all invited to the first
"Evening Lights"
An hour of sacred story and music
produced so I may practise what I'm learning in school
and begin to serve more effectively.

It's at Unity Church of Peace
7p. tonight
(Friday, January 18th)
Some of my most excellent friends will be there,
sharing their talents.

This series will be once a month,
almost always on the 3rd Friday.

It may turn out
you think I'm silly for God.

Perhaps this is a good thing.

Love Always,
at 7p.

Another "Rose Is Rose"

You already know "Rose Is Rose" is my favorite comic strip.
This clip reminds me of a story I just heard.
There was a holy place people visited often
and, in the winter it was a treacherous and difficult journey.
The shortest way was over a mountain.
Of course, in Summer, that would present few challenges,
but in winter that mountain pass was covered with deep snow, and often thick ice.
There was one teacher who made the journey every week,
crossing easily over the mountain without a single slip, or fall.
When his students asked how this was possible
he told them
When you hold on above
You would not fall below.

So Much Has Happened!

I have returned from our first "intensive."
That word, "Intensive" could give the wrong impression.
The only thing "Intense" about our gathering
was the Joy
The Holiness
The Love
It was Intensively Awesome.

Our class is marvelous.
Although, sadly, one of us could not make it due to injury.
I must remember to pray protection for all of us in future.
We gained another classmate.
Her name is Rachael
and we all love her already.

We did not get a remembrance of her in our first class photo
because she needed to leave early to catch a plane.
Too Bad For Us.

I am looking forward to more, more, more.
I am making changes to support my new growth.

I hope you are reaching for something wonderful as well.
