Singing the Note

Can you find me? Posted by Hello
This was a huge fund raiser last holiday season.
We are always ready to serve - this time we raised awareness and funds for children at risk.
Mr. Dill is in this photo as well. Let me know if you spot either of us.
What a most excellent evening.

"Away From My Desk"

Do you hear that a lot when you phone people?
Well, I'm writing from another location and i have to tell you it's fun.
I was looking for ways to earn enough for the last payment on the new CD we just recorded and the opportunity came up to "temp" here at an office. See, everyone normally here has gone to clean up after hurricane activity. So I get to stay here and answer the phone. While I'm at it I'm earning that last bit of do-re-mi so anyone interested can sing-a-long to the music of "Heavenward" because it will be in tangible form.

I've been listening to the idea of this CD for so long it seems like it's "real" already. It's helpful for communication to be able to hand someone a physical CD to play - instead of a "georgy-idea."

Very soon! Very soon!

In the meantime, I'm "away from my desk" in order to sing to you.

Ah! At last I'm back to share with you. I have been a little out of touch - for a wonderful reason. I've been offered the opportunity to work in an office for a while. Most of the people in this business are off helping with the clean-up from the hurricanes. This means they need someone to answer phones & questions while they are gone. I know, I know, not exactly the activity we have come to expect in a "georgy." The thing is, as you know, I'm racing the recording project to the finish. I want to be able to make the last payment with no problemo. Well, turns out this temporary position is a marvelous solution to the challenge. It does have me racing around to get everything done for my regular work - but - like I said, it's temporary - and worth it.

Cool, huh?

So, today is Wednesday. I'm not in the office I just told you about, I'm getting ready for story time. Then, Ms. Osa & i have chores & chores & chores - AND - I have an assignment due - I mean due now . . so, I'll be back here at my desk in a few hours - looking to God for inspiration.

Make today count!

First Fall Saturday Posted by Hello

Ms. Osa is pacing. We have discussed the fact that it is indeed Saturday. This means the "Saturday Park" which is exciting stuff to my four legged girl friend. We have managed our chores (not much, really.) I have checked for messages (not much, really.) We have had breakfast (great stuff, really.) I have surfed around dreaming of better days (lots to find - but - lots to love about right now as well.)

So - here it is! The moment I wish you all a wonderful Fall Saturday, turn off the computer and go play with Ms. Osa.

Hasta Toodle-loo!

Do you love it? I sure do. Fall, I mean. It's my favorite time of year. I always wonder why January was chosen for marking the beginning of a year cycle. Well, I ignore all that and begin plans and projects in September.

Oh I am having fun. My dog and I got to help friends in their office yesterday. It wasn't rocket science. I mean, we answered the phone and shuffled a few papers. I was definitely able. Since I am racing my recording project to the finish - the opportunity to earn a little do-re-mi is a very good thing.

Racing? Well, no I am not running anywhere. But I have just a couple of weeks to come up with the rest of the dollars I need to finish paying. So, I pretend it is a race. We do lots of music in the next few days. At least enough for me to feel great (I always feel terrific singing) and pay my "necessary" bills.

What are you doing?

Exciting Stuff!

Did you read the latest article "Here we Boldly Go" (and "again") in the blogger news? Gosh, it's really exciting. Then, to make great stuff even better - there is the tip I have needed for a long time. Google offers to translate for us. We are actually able to communicate with each other. I'm so thrilled I can hardly stand it.

Yes, yes, for those of you waiting (like me) - I have ordered the first 1000 copies of our new CD - it will take a few weeks for them to get here. I'm busy gathering the last remaining dollars necessary to pay the balance when they arrive. This is an expensive endeavor. I have to tell you - it's really worth it. The music is great.

'bye for now -

Half Way There

First I have to mention the Blogspot post about all the nations represented - It's over the top cool so many are blogging/sharing from everywhere and the article is fine.

We go back into the studio this afternoon. Last night was so perfect. Friends came and added their voices to the project. There was so much joy, so much love - that alone makes this worth doing.

Our "new to us" engineer, Greg, is a treasure. i don't know how we've done without him all these years. We certainly won't make that mistake again. He rocks!

We are half way through the recording process. Perhaps we'll capture the rest of the tunes today and be able to move on to the next step.

I believe we'll have actual CDs to offer for the holiday season.

We begin recording tomorrow!  Posted by Hello

Friday, September 10, 2004

My computer is happy and beautiful to look at - and it believes it is brand new. I'm not about to tell her anything different, either. I'm as pleased as I can be. My generous friend helped me and it went easily and gracefully.

We are so excited. We begin recording Tuesday evening. The music is so beautiful we can hardly wait to get it into everyone's hands.

Here's a young lady I am proud to know. I have often wished she could have been my daughter. She is certainly easy to love.

I'm off to sing.

Oh Dear!

I may be absent for a couple of days.
Looks like I get to reload my operating system.
Wish me luck!

Calm & Collected

It’s time to stay calm.

It’s a beautiful day. We’ll get to do our music outside. We have people we love going out of their way to visit with us. Even more headed from out of town to be with us by Monday. We have new music to perform and get ready for our recording date. We are well and happy.

So, a little thing like computer assistance will not fluster me. I will wait until the holiday has passed. I will contact a professional. They will have a great solution and I will be pleased. So, no panic or stress -

Goodness Reigns.

I got to see the movie “Hero” today. It’s beautiful – both to ear & eye.

We are working on performance of the pieces we are about to record. The music is exciting for us. We’ve made a collection of tunes we are proud of and I can hardly wait to get it into people’s hands. I hope our friends will enjoy it as much as we do.

Tomorrow we’ll get to try some out on the audience at the wine bar. I hope it’s a pretty day. It’s always fun to play outside on a nice day.

Beautiful Day!

Hm, I am having a moment of challenges. Will this stop me? Rather doubt it.

My day was downright beautiful. Osa & I enjoyed a morning at the park. I took myself to a movie and even treated myself to a chocolate covered graham cracker afterwards.

Doesn’t get too much better.

I do hope your day was excellent!

Happy September! Posted by Hello

Happy September!

The very best of times - Aren't I the wealthiest? Maybe not in dollars, but in everything that counts, I am abundantly blessed. So, I was at story time, we'd already passed out cookies and told our story for the day. We had just started singing our story time songs. One of the children wanted to sing "Jingle Bells" and it seemed reasonable to me, so we did - then the most amazing thing occurred. Some of my friends came around the corner. Joan had a home baked cake - the best kind - "Surprise Cake" - the kind with pretty colors baked inside. There were candles that said "Happy Birthday!" And we all sang - then the children made wishes and we blew out the candles together. Yes! Every one went out - so I know all those child wishes are granted. Everyone had cake and wore hats and sang songs (lots of songs.) My friends gave me a crown to wear and put a birthday banner up on the wall. Oh what a happy time. I didn't even know they were aware of my natal day. Oh! That isn't all! They gave me flowers & a corsage & a gift bag filled with the best prizes. There were cards saying the happiest things and socks with puppies and kitties on them. There were gifts for Ms. Osa & Jelly bean the Kitty Queen, there are gift cards to my favorite coffee shop and - here's a most excellent idea - a grocery store (Always a good gift.) Wealthy, I tell you! And Happy, and Loved and "Queen of September!" What else can occur? This will be the best month ever!

Goodness rules!
