While others looked for wildfolwers . . .

Classmates walked together towards the wildflower garden at the base of a hill
I decided to look for wonders
around the bend
in a lovely, secluded spot
I found a lone headstone.
I focused on the heading and could not find proper information
(if you click on the photo - you'll be able to read the stone)
asking for help
(Rangers are excellent people)
The entire family plot was moved from the nature reserve
BUT
Mary Isabelle was not found for several decades.
I wonder if she loved this land?
It's a beautiful place

Up the walkway from the wildflower garden
protected by trees
and kind park rangers
Mary Isabelle Davis
rests.

She was born in Osage County, Missouri.
She married a farmer
left us when she was 31
on September 3rd, 1884.

Still processing nature reserve adventure . . .

The visit changed me somehow
a little over three weeks ago
 still sorting thoughts

Unlike many of you
I'm not a camera master

Nature managed on her own
to get me started

return again in a few weeks
another wagon tour
sure to amaze

 wonder what I'll find
Mid-November

wow

made me grin
so, I'm sharing with you.

My list has grown . . .

Entrance to Children's Garden at Missouri Botanical Garden

Until yesterday i had two absolute favorite places in the St. Louis Area
"The Garden"
"The Art Museum."

Yesterday I attended an event at the Nature Reserve.
Two hours in a mighty nice wagon
learning about natural local species management
Worth Every Moment
There's a lot more to see
and learn
Guess there's a third hang-out on my list

Happy October!
