First, was "the asking."

I shared with you
a way too long post
about "the resume"

I figure it was "The Holy"
asking me to get back in the game
"recommit"

First "small thing."
except, it took a Celestial Army to get me to listen & do something

hey, do you think this new year is loaded with potential?
just asking.

yeah, Just Asking.

love & love,
-g-

Official Beginning of the "Small Things" Report

A lovely church
asked if I'd send a resume
and consider becoming their pastor.

I thought
(sarcastically)
"Yeah, like THAT is gonna happen."
and i did nothing about it.

Several months later, that "inner voice thing" went off inside me
and would not let me get any work done until I'd sent a resume.
Finally, I did exactly that . . sent the resume
Then, i went back to work and didn't give it a second thought.
BUT,
the church "Search Committee"
got super excited
They called everyone they could
asking for recommendations

Within a week
I was being interviewed by the search committee,
giving a workshop for the congregation,
giving the Sunday Service
going to dinner with the Board,
Being interviewed and celebrated by the congregation

It was scary.

Finally i noticed
all these beautiful people came to be a part of something
to
 Be Loving and Supportive

Last year I'd been taken advantage of
it was NOT a fun time

NOW I could see, this as a Healing Going On
Color Me Grateful

Now, when the few dark things present themselves for "review."
I have new information to weigh it with (or against)
LOVE Wins

I suspect that resume process
was The Holy One
making sure I'm still
"IN"

Like the old television show that said:
"Your mission, should you choose to accept it . . . "
That willingness to submit a piece of paper
has begun a new process
I had to DO SOMETHING
(okay, you're going to ask about the church, aren't you???
Other people are asking for the position.  I do not, for one instant, think I'm the perfect, next minister.  I've left it all open for the Holy to sort out . . BUT, OTHER GREAT THINGS have begun to occur and, I'm finally excited about the possibilities.)
This is the first report.
NOW, as this NEW YEAR is approaching . . .
Please tell me, what's happening in YOUR WORLD . . . ?
love & love,

I keep thinking of song titles . . . .

No. really, instead of a good title for a post, i keep thinking of song titles, Encouraging Song Titles.
AND, I am paying attention.  I have been paying attention to small things.  I have come to  understand my next adventure is being sculpted, especially for me out of "small things."

When I am silent, i fall into that place
where everything is music.

I prayed for change, so I changed my mind.
I prayed for guidance and learned to trust myself.
I prayed for happiness and realized I am not my ego.
I prayed for
peace and learned to accept others unconditionally.
I prayed for abundance and realized my doubt kept it out.
I prayed for wealth and realized it is my health.
I prayed for a miracle and realized I am the miracle.
I prayed for a soul mate and realized I am the One.
I prayed for love and realized it’s always knocking, but I have to allow it in.

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more!"

Wow Colorful!

Ernest Holmes:

Jesus learned through silent communion with Life. The inward ear of Jesus was in tune with the divine harmony; his inward eye looked upon a spiritual universe; his human consciousness was transmuted into divine understanding as he sought for and found his union with Life.

Is it not true that we seek wholeness in externals? We should like to influence people and make friends, but have we realized that the friendship which comes through influencing people lacks that inwardness which makes friends without influencing them?
IF one were really unified with his true Self, there would never be any question about friendship.
IF one were really unified with Substance, there would never be any question about supply.
IF one were unified with Wholeness, he could not be unhappy.
IF one were conscious of his union with Life, he would never fear death.

When the woman touched the hem of the garment of Christ, she contacted the principle of Life Itself. This contact automatically healed her. Touching Wholeness in another revealed her own wholeness. Some day when you are confused, try this simple experiment. Sit down quietly and say:

The peace of God is at the center of my being. I am conscious of this peace. I enter into this peace. I am surrounded by this peace. This peace moves out from me in all directions. It calms the troubled waters of my experience. It heals everything it contacts. There is nothing but peace. I rejoice in this peace.

Another Great Thought from Yehuda:

When we invest and push to achieve a goal,
there’s inevitably a moment where we will hit a wall.

This is the moment we ask:
Is it time to let go or push through?

When you hit this wall,
this is the time to do, not think.
Don’t ask questions.
Just keep going.

Just beyond that wall is where the greatest amount of Light is waiting.

Great Thoughts from my Friend, James Stone Goodman

James Stone Goodman Let’s find a language and a way of operating that is a different model; let’s not attack the problem, let’s sit and consider it, let’s make it our necessity to heal ourselves in a comprehensive way through the smartest people we have who will sit together and talk think act ourselves into solutions strategies a new wisdom, a new wisdom entirely.

You’d be surprised how many of the great sages
were considered the least likely to succeed
at the beginning of their journey.

There is always Light in our failures
because they put us one step closer to reaching our goal.

"Isolate yourself for a moment every day, preferably in your Sanctum, and send thoughts of love, harmony, and health towards humanity as a whole, particularly towards all those who suffer physically or mentally. Also ask God to assist them on all planes and to preserve them as much as possible from the ordeals of life. "

It's the time of year many of us think about Light.  I often tell a story that teaches the scripture from Proverbs, "The soul of man is the candle of God."

I sing "Don't let the Light go out."

Today i was reminded we are constantly revealing Light.  It isn't a "shazam" kind of easy, where some mysteriously dressed wizard proclaims the "magic word" in a theatrical voice and instantly "Light Appears" (or whatever else we "wish" would simply manifest.  What would it be for you today, a car, enough money to cover expenses, a puppy?)

Once, long ago i read a book, "Crack in the Cosmic Egg."  Since then i have heard stories about our broken places being the very point in which True Light Beams through.

These stories are beautiful, comforting . . . . BUT . . do we remember them when we feel broken?

That's what the stories are for . . . like a map inside us, pointing the way when we feel lost, alone, frightened . . Broken.  Exactly then, according to our choices . . Lots of LIGHT can/will/hopes - to Shine Out into the world in blinding radiance - and heal us - and the world - AND - show us a new way to be.

I'm still working on it - BUT, i have the story map collection to guide me . . . I can not be lost . . .
(Do you remember the song, "I'm not lost - i am exploring . . ?"  I wish we were together right now - we could sing it Loud and Clear.)

So, okay - I'm thinking "Light" - even when I wonder if I've gotten lost - I Sing Loud - maybe I'll encourage others . . . Maybe I'll finally prove none of us are alone . . .

Merry & Bright, Joy-Filled Hope, Peace and Plenty for Everyone!

 Today I ask my students:

Who is wise?

(we are told)

He who learns from all people,
as it is said:
'From all those who taught me I gained understanding' (Psalms 119:99)

Pirket Avot - to be continued.

Thank you, Rabbi Wolpe

Scholar Max Kadushin called the Rabbis of the Talmud "normal mystics." They didn't have wild visions but they saw the steady, undimmed radiance of God in everything. We should aspire to be normal mystics too, seeing the world as poets of the soul.

A Long, Satisfying Relationship . . .

For many years we held a
Nicholas Event
on St. Nicholas Eve
(Nicholas Day is Dec. 6th - We always celebrated the evening before)
The gathering became so popular
and our hosts were picking up the entire tab
Eventually they decided it was time to discontinue

Well, This year, you might remember,
The Saint visited on Saturday, November 24th
so, we still enjoy occasional visitations
on a smaller scale.

I don't remember what year this was taken
I'm the silver headed lady assisting
These children are bringing gifts
to share with Children they've heard about
that don't have as much

Isn't that a wonderful idea?
Children helping Children?

How about us helping each other

That could make a better world.

We could look around and do a little something -
full bellies, maybe?
If each of us helped a little . . .

Okay, just an idea.

Happy Nicholas Eve!

I have been re-reading books - study books - that are still on my shelf.
It's nifty to be reminded
WHY i was saving them
(Why my shelves are so packed with Good Thoughts.)

So, I'm reading some Troward
and reminded about the "Lost Word."
(Thing is,  this proposed "lost word" is hidden in plain sight.)

Then, this morning i got to listen to my absolute favorite teacher.
Her name is Dana,  If you visit our neighborhood, give a shout out and I'll tell you where to find her.
OR, you could just remember this link.

So, Dana is reminding everyone they already ARE the answer, the light . . .
What we do matters . . . even if we didn't think so . . Still, it's True . . . . .

I just love that.

Oh yeah, the "word?"

It's "I AM."

Are you arguing that you see two words????
hmm,

Okay, okay - we all have times when . . . .
(well, you know, you have them, too)
But, when we look at what we get to do

 We LOVE Our Lives

How about you?
